How to change my Global IP address without restarting the router?

Hi Guys,

I used to have a thomson st-330 USB modem for my ADSL network. When I wanted to change my IP i just disconnected and reconnected a dial up connection that does the job instantly! (a wan miniport + a batch file to disconnect/recoannect with my password and username)

Few days ago i bought a new modem/router (TP-LINK TS-W8951NS)
Before that all I knew was that if I wanna change the ip address (if I have a router) was a batch file with commands ipconfig /release/renew

I now know that this changes the ip of my PC not the global IP! So how would I change it without restarting the router?

(When i change something in my router interface page (PVC1.2.3....etc) my IP changed instantly
but how do I do this without accessing the router, like commands and a batch file etc...?

EDIT: I just found out that my global IP changed on its own after like 30-60 min :S why is that! and to do so manually???

since router is the one holding your "global" IP, there's no way you can reset it without accessing the router.

log into your router, under configuration you should find renew button, depending on whether your ISP allows the request to go through it will get your router a new IP.

Similarly, depending on configuration of your ISP/modem you might be able to reset the IP by power cycling the router.

OMG i knew my old speedtouch usb modem was better! it did not even need extra power!
My isp allows getting a new ip whenever i want..
and i can always change it by accessing the router menu, without restarting, I can get a new one in a milli sec.

If I access the router too much, will I ruin it?
I just wanted an easy way using a batch file..
