Hey,

So recently I decided to set up a network drive for my family so that we can share files across the LAN.

I have managed to make the drive appear on other computers in the network but I don't know how to change the permissions on that drive for a specific computer.

When I go into the permissions section of the drive (Properties - Security - Add), I only see my computer when I click on Locations.

The other computer is connected to my computer (which is running the network drive) as I can see it when I click on "Networks."

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated!

Thanks for your assistance,

Permissions are set on per-user basis, not on per-computer. On your NAS, create user names for all members of the household, and assign them rights to shared folders (music, pictures, Mom's documents etc). THen, on variios computers, map network drives with correct username / passwords.
