Hi i posted earlier on how to go about overclocking my AMD Phenom 9950 B.E. on a ASUS M3A79 Motherboard. A few people were telling me to overclock it with a multiplier of 16, so i overclocked it and i am running it at 3.2ghz with a multiplier of 16 and getting nice idle temps. In bios i am getting an idle temp of 36C, with a Thermaltake V1 Cooler. Now a few people told me to relax my ram timings to 5-5-5-5-18 and i have not one clue what that means, how do u adjust the ram timings in the bios, can anyone give me some directions if i should adjust the ram timings or leave them at what they are? 😀

if its running fine, then i wouldn't touch the RAM timings. If you want to OC more, and discover issues, then i'd change the RAM timings, or the divider. There are usually settings for this in the BIOS. the timings are known as the CAS (tCL) Timing, tRCD Timing (in my bios called RAS to CAS R/W Delay), tRCD Timing (also called Row Precharge Time), tRAS Timing (a.k.a. Min RAS Active Time)

If you don't see them on any of the pages, your ASUS board may have hidden options (in the Gigybite board i have i have to hold Ctrl + F1) to access the memory options
