Screen resolution is one of the primary ways you can tune your computer to your specific needs. We are all made different and we all like doing things in a slightly different way. Setting you display up so you are comfortable is one of the first tasks you should undertake when using a computer for the first time. Here is how to change screen resolution in Windows 10.

There are two main ways you can alter the resolution, through the graphics driver or through Windows itself. Using Windows is the most straightforward.

It is quick and easily to change screen resolution in Windows 10.

1. Right click an empty space on your desktop and select Display settings.
2. Click the ‘Advanced display settings’ text link.
3. Change the resolution in the box as required and click Apply. If the box doesn’t contain the resolution you’re looking for, you may need to update your graphics drivers.
4. If like me, you have multiple monitors, you can change each one individually to suit your needs.

If you cannot find the resolution you need:

1. Right click an empty space on your desktop and select Display settings.
2. Click the ‘Advanced display settings’ text link.
3. Select ‘Display adapter properties’.
4. Click List All Modes. A box will appear showing all the resolutions supported by your graphics card and/or drivers.
5. If you still cannot find your resolution of choice, update your graphics drivers and repeat this step. If the resolution is not listed, it is not supported by your graphics card.
