How to change the realtek digital output

Hello,
i am having a problem with my speakers and mic not working on yahoo messenger get message no sound detected

- The mic should be plugged into the pinkish jack.
- Use Sound Recorder to test mic outside of yahoo. Start Button->Programs->Accessories->Entertainment->Sound Recorder
- Check your little speaker icon in the System Tray (lower right-hand side of your screen) on your desktop and see if the micophone volume is turned down or muted.
