How to change windows 10 32bit to 64bit?

Hi, guys.

A friend of mine is stuck on windows 10 32bit, with the only RAM that's usable is 2.5 gb (out of 8gb). I found this tutorial:- http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-3159469/upgrade-bit-bit-version-windows.html?xtor=EREC-8889

Does it work? Is there any other way? We can't do a full re-installation, as I'm far away, and he doesn't know anything about PC.

You have to do a full reinstallation - there is no way around it.

You need a clean install to go to 64-bit.

No, that tutorial you linked is 100% real.

It clearly says in the first part that you need to reinstall Windows - "If you have 32-bit already installed you will need to do a clean install of 64-bit."

The second half tell you how to go about reinstalling Windows.

Step 7 of that tutorial is Install 64-bit Windows 10. The tutorial I linked to shows how to do that. That tutorial is just a long winded version of you need a clean install of a 64-bit os. Ii just shows you how yo check that your cpu is 64-bit ready.
