How to check computer component compatibility?

Hello,

I just wanted it know how to check each and every part's compatibility (eg: processor,gfx,ram,processor heatsink etc.) with the motherboard and with each other.Im asking this becase i want to build my own pc.I know its a vast topic but this was the best place to ask.

You need to watch out for
Motherboard fitting in case, as well as the cooler, gpu and psu fitting.
Cooler not banging into ram, can happen with tall ram and tall heatsinks.
Drivecage obstructing graphics cards.
Wide aircooler hitting graphics card. Thats the list i go after.
