Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to test my connection for torrent throttling by my ISP. A quick google throws up 10,000 articles all of which refer you to MPI's Glasnost test. Unfortunately, that tool has been defunct since Jan 2014 when a compatibility problem with Java arose.

The only other site I could find - http://www.bittorrenttest.com/ doesn't seem to work (page never loads).

Can something please suggest an alternative?

Thanks.

Like I said, I'm trying to figure out if my ISP is throttling my torrents. Even with thousands of seeders, I'm getting 25 Kbps on a 40 Mbps line.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, it seems you can have TOO MANY seeders, each one of those connection needs be managed by your router. Try restricting your seeders to say 30 and see if it makes a difference.

Thing is I'm not connected to hundreds of seeders. Just a dozen or so. Speed tops out at 40KBps which is less than a tenth of what I'm otherwise getting.

So is there any way other than Glasnost to check for torrent throttling.
