Hi, as the title says, how can you check the maximum amount of RAM memory your PC (desktop or laptop) supports? The usual advice is "check the manufacturer's website", but I want to know how can one verify personally in case he suspects the official specifications are wrong.
I've read about the command: wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity. How reliable it is?
On a slightly related note, I have an old Asus F550J with 4 GB RAM soldered on the motherboard and 1 SO-DIMM slot (which hosts a 8 GB module). Can anyone tell me why programs like task manager or CPU-Z tell me that I have 4 SODIMM slots? (Yes, I have looked inside the laptop, it is just 1).
Thanks in advance.
