How to check if graphics card works

I recently got an old PC, with an Pentium4 and an ATI Sapphire 6150 graphics card. The problem is I can't get my monitor to display everything. It did have a few useless components, so I disconnected them and I managed to get a splash screen with Pentium 4 on it, but that was all I got. I removed the RAM to check if the motherboard beep'd and was still alive, and it did, but when I put the RAM back in, the monitor again didn't display anything, and now nothing I do can get a display on the monitor. How can I check if this is a problem with the graphics card, and do you guys have any advice on how to get the PC back up and running?

How many sticks of ram do u have? Post system specs!

Well, you already have the graphics card. Other specs:

Intel D845PESV Motherboard
Pentium 4 @ 2.4 Ghz 533Mhz FSB
Two sticks of Kingston KVR333X64C25/1G DDR

That's about all I can give you now. I haven't been able to boot it since I got it, so I don't have a program that reports the hardware installed.

I also tried the monitor that came with it with another computer, and the monitor works fine.
