Question How to Check Internet Speed

Hi,

I noticed on my work PC that during a particular (restricted) time of the day, the speed/bandwidth of my internet is throttled down when visiting YouTube. This is evident by the slow load times for videos, especially at HD quality. However, after this restricted period of the day (usually after working hours) speed/bandwidth is restored and load times for HD videos are normalized.

I understand that this is done from the admin side but is there any way of checking the speed/bandwidth of a particular website to see what it is currently running at?

When u run utube, the default quality streamed to you will be what your detected bandwidth can handle. Google UTUBE REQUIRED BANDWIDTH.

Although it might not be real useful you can always see the rates to every session in the network tab of the resource monitor. Applications can restrict themselves to less than your actual bandwidth for a number of different reasons. If for example you have a 100mbps internet and watch netflix even at 4k it still will never use much more than about 25mbps
