How to check max FPS?

I use fraps but my moniter only goes up to 60 FPS and I know I'm getting more then that in a lot of games with my gtx 780. But how much? Any program that show how many I could be getting?

Fraps shows the calculated fps, not the actually displayed framerate. You can run Fraps and start and stop a benchmark with F12 I think. I will create a log file that shows you min, average and max frames.

If you turn vsync off then your gpu will output more than 60 fps even though your monitor can only show 60.

This is on skyrim how do I turn vsync off?
Between I also have GeForce experience and nvidia control panel settings on for skyrim

You will have to do it in game in video options. Also, it may be on by defult in Nvidia control panel. I don't have an Nvidia card so I don't know where it would be there. Just poke around and make sure vsync is off.

ok i turned Vsync off and it still doesn't go above 60 on fraps. is there anything else i can use?

Wait...I just remembered something. Skyrim is capped at 60 fps due to the physics in the game. I remeber there was a workaround to uncap, but would cause all the object to fly around and fall throught he map when you walk into a room. You should use a different game to benchmark.
