Is there somewhere I can look up a serial number to see if a hard drive is refurbished or not? Or another number I can use?

I got a "New Unopened" Samsung T5 2Tb for $220 on ebay from a seller who had multiple. They also had some in another listing selling for $240. Non said refurbished but it just seems strange they had them separated like that. Seller had a 100% rating and was member since 2011 so nothing fishy about them.

$220-$240 on fleabay.
Or, $250 on Amazon, with a relevant return and warranty.

Yeah I usually don't buy from ebay for that reason but since the seller seemed so good I figured I'd go for it. It was $220 on Amazon a few weeks ago, shoulda snagged it then! I need it before I vacation next week too. Either way according to the Samsung website its warranty go's until 2024 so I can't imagine it is refurbished then. All it tells me is it is a valid serial and the warranty length.
Apparently Samsung Magician won't work for external drives.. Is there another program you would recommend to check total writes for an external ssd?

If the warranty check at samsung.com showed this to be a valid serial number, it is a valid drive.
