Saying that Google knows a lot about us would put us in the role of Captain Obvious. Yet, however obvious it may be, that's the truth - the search engine company holds a staggering amount of personal info about you.

As a direct result, a good amount of it comes from third-party apps. Whether you realize it or not, you do sign in to these applications and allow unnecessary permissions. As privacy is always a sensitive issue on the world wide web, it’s always a good idea to keep an eye on what third-party apps you allow to connect with your Google account. Here’s how you can do that:

    ■ Type www.google.com in the address bar of your favorite browser and press Enter.

    ■ If you’re not logged in, click on the blue Sign In in the top right corner and provide your credentials to log in to your account.

    ■ Click on a specific app to uncover the exact date you’ve given access to, as well as to remove it by clicking on Remove Access button.

    ■ After you do a thorough check up, each app you remove will no longer be permitted to access your Google Account so you can continue using your Google account safe in the knowledge your personal data is protected.
