First thing to do is pick material to audition speakers. This is free but most important. Nobody else has the same hearing as you. Only your ears and brain can tell you what sounds "right". Get music (preferably acoustic or vocals) that you know EXTREMELY well. Then get DVD or BlueRay that you know the sounds of. Take ALL that when you audition speakers. IMO, auditioning speakers is a fundamental step. Plan to get all your primary speakers from one manufacturer. Get the same speaker if possible for all positions. That way you minimize any shift in tone as sounds move from speaker to speaker. I have Paradigm speakers with an SVS subwoofer for my primary audio system. Why? Because I liked the way the Paradigms sounded better than other speaker brands.$4000 as my total budget I can arrange more money up to 6000$ so, what is the suggestion for the best home theater system?
