[SOLVED] How to Choose WLAN Module for Laptop

I am wanting to upgrade my laptop from its 802.11n + BT 4 to 802.11ac or ax +BT 5. My laptop is an HP W0P27AV. I have opened my laptop before to change RAM and upgrade the HDD to an SSD, so I can confirm that the WLAN module is removeable.

Aside from the form factor, can I just choose any module?

Some laptops have the BIOS coded to only accept certain models of WiFi cards, you may want to do a web search to see if your model is one of them. If not, then anything should work with the same connection type.

If it's locked in the BIOS you can't disable it, it's not there as an option, it will just not see it.
