Does anyone know how to clear the Open Recent documents in Adobe Photoshop CS2?

I have tried numerous programs, editing the registry and still nothing. I can make them not appear by going to File List and entering 0. But if you change it back to 1 or more, there they are again!

I think he means when he changes the option back to show all the old files show again, as in they are not getting deleted, its more show or no show he wants them deleted.

Have you tried one of the spyware/adware programs that will delete the mru lists? Ad-Aware will delete mru's. Not sure if it will for Adobe products.

Yes, including deleting a registry key that i found having an MRU of photoshop and i thought that i did the trick. But when i ran it again, there it is! The files are still there! Also tried Winwash that claims that can delete the MRU for Photoshop 7, but it doesn't work with CS2. So nothing so far! They are probably hidden in a file or something. Had a look in hidden files in My Documents, and in Adobe's directories, couldn't find it either.

this is what I did.
go to
1.photoshop preference-
2.general,history states to 1
3.click on 'next'
4.at the bottom of menu it says..."recent file list contains"
5.change to "0"
6. click ok
voila!!!

good luck!

hi i know this thred is years old but iv'e just sorted this problem!
all you have to do is delete (Adobe Photoshop Prefs.psp) this will get rid of all the history and Adobe Photoshop will start up, clean like the first time it was installed! simple easy and fast.

C:\Documents and Settings\philip\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\9.0\Adobe Photoshop CS2 Settings
