Simple, but it requires some explanation why the users (administrator) can't do this no more and how to get around this to remain with a clear windows defender history.

I like to keep things clean, I sure hope there an easy method to still do this.

1) regarding "can't get past Access Denied Folder to simply delete contents".

That means that you do not have the necessary rights regardless of any stated reasons for wanting to clear the history.

2) Forum rules prohibit assistance with circumventing access restrictions.

And one needs to clear the Defender history....why?

gREAT addon to access all of defenders features:
No particular reason, besides clearing off unwanted history that was other wise resolved, keeping a clean OS.

Thanks I'll look at that. (interesting but not what I require) keeping in mind that the objective is to keep a clean OS.

Any idea why they made the folder contents that was so easily deleted to clear the history access restricted, probably because not everyone can simply remember what they had done with regards to windows defender.

So the only solution is to add software, there has to be a better way?

There are many things that are inaccessible to the user.
Often, for good reason.
Understandable, but why the history of the defender? (user access restrictions are acceptable, not so much as to where administrators are concerned)

Anyway I don't know a method to remove the windows defender history or to circumvent the access restriction to the folder that holds the history of said, that would better assist than questioning why it has to be removed or cleared, besides I have stated why it is a requirement, simply to keep a clean OS.

It would be much appreciated if somebody could post a method to do so here on these forums, for when other methods are not viable to the user.
