Are they directly connected to the net, or through a NATing router? And most importantly, why the hell would you host stuff off of 'old laptops'. It's a recipe for disaster. Upvote 0 Downvote

File/Web servers running Lubuntu Server 14 and (hopefully) Apache. (I know that that may not be the best choice. I'm familiar with the Ubuntu environment.) Someone Somewhere : Are they directly connected to the net, or through a NATing router? Through a router, through another router in DMZ mode, through a cable modem, to the Internet. Because I'm broke, I don't care too much about speed, I got them for free, and they're easy to switch out when they inevitably break. Upvote 0 Downvote
