This is the first area you will come to when you start a new game. This is where your entire adventure begins. Speak with the Disfavored soldier who has been sent to greet you to start your adventure.
Step 1)Meet up with Verse.
Immediately after you speak with Aurora here, you'll be thrown into your first battle. The game will pause at the start of combat here and you can take your time reading the tips that will appear on your screen. Have no fear, Aurora will help you in this fight, and there's only one of them. Dispatch him and move on to the boulder. If you have an athletics rank of 30 or higher you can push the boulder down the hill to crush one of the enemies below, or you can slip past it to join the fight and save another disfavored soldier. They will all focus on killing him instead of you here, so the fight isn't hard. Press on to find your first companion, Verse, battling with three more soldiers, offer to join her in the fight and you've now got your first companion! Dispatch these people, it's time to move on as a party now.
Step 2)Defeat Tarkis Demos.
It's time for your first real battle with an actual decent enemy, head down the stairs to be met with a group of five Vendrien Soldiers. No matter how you respond to them here, you will have to fight these guys. There will be a group of Scarlet Chorus warriors here to help you as well though so it's not too hard, bring Tarkis down quickly using you and Verse's combo move and then clean up the rest of them.
Step 3)Save the Disfavored officer
Once the battle is complete, a Disfavored soldier will run in and let you know that one of their officers has been taken hostage by one of the Vendrien Soldiers. Follow him to the left and you'll have to talk down a hostage situation, or simply use brute force to end it. Your actions here will provide you with either loyalty or disfavor with either the scarlet chorus and the disfavored, so choose wisely depending on who you want to like you.
Step 4)Determine Tarkis Demos' fate.
It seems you actually took Tarkis Demos alive, you'll find Mocking Blaze and a Disfavored soldier arguing over if they should have him killed, or give him a chance to be recruited into the Scarlet Chorus. Determine his fate and then you may proceed to the southeast out of this area.
Continue on to the camp of the Disfavored. You have an edict to read still.
