I'm hoping someone can help...not a real showstopper nut an OCD thing I guess. For some reason, after installing a BIOS update, after rebooting into Windows I noticed that my Wi-Fi had lost its profile. I entered the password and reconnected but noticed in "Network Connections" that the interface name had changed from Wi-Fi to Wi-Fi 2. It wouldn't let me rename, presumably because Wi-Fi was still listed somewhere in the registry. I found it, deleted it, and renamed Wi-Fi 2 to Wi-Fi. I thought I was good to go until I went into Windows 10 Settings/Network/Wi-Fi. At the top it still says Wi-Fi 2. When I do a search for it in Regedit the only entry is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\SWD\RADIO\{F2DABC99-D777-4BEC-BB00-D9AA0B916F34}. I also found the original entry for WiFi. First, it won't let me rename Wi-Fi 2 to Wi-Fi in this key and says there was an error writing it. Second, it also won't let me delete the key referencing Wi-Fi. Is there any way to fix this and have the Window 10 Settings renamed to Wi-Fi, like I did in Network Connections? Thanks.

Weird but issue seems to have been resolved. I was unable to to gain permission access to the registry keys (although I did take ownership) but when I went back into Network Connections, rename the connection back to Wi-Fi 2, and then rename again back to Wi-Fi, it fixed both.
