Hey guys! I have an interesting question. I need to completely wipe my custom-build computer, to the point where it forgets the OS.

Basically, I built my first computer a bit ago, and installed Windows 10, 32 bit. I didn't realize the differences between 32 and 64 bit, and I need help. I already have the Windows 10 64 bit disc, but I can't install it when 32 bit is already on the computer.

How can I do a hard reset on the computer so it forgets I ever installed an OS?
Thanks!

Solution
Put the Windows disk in your system, boot from it, and follow the instructions until you get to the point where it asks what hard drive to install it on. You'll want to select your hard drive partition and delete it, then select that hard drive and hit next a few times. Wait ~15 minutes and you'll be at a usable Windows 10 x64 desktop.

if you boot to the install disk you should be able to start the setup and format (erase) the drive before installing the new system (64).
you may have to change the boot order in the BIOS/UEFI so that the system boots to the DVD drive first.
