Hi all, I'm building my first computer and I have a question about raid. Here are my system specs:

Intel Core i7-4790K
MSI Z97-GAMING 5
2x Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 240GB
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB

I got most of these parts on sale and one of them was a combo deal on newegg for 2 kingston ssds and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I want to put the two ssds into raid0 but I also want windows to boot off of a ssd. Will I be able to do this and if so, how?

Solution
Yes. I don't have you motherboard but you would plug them both in to the SATA ports. Then go into the BIOS and then in Advanced -- Integerated Peripherals you will find the SATA mode. Set this to RAID. Then restart your PC. It should then ask you to press CTRL + I to enter the RAID settings. Then Create a RAID Volume, Select RAID 0 and make it. May have to select the drives as well.

Once that is done just install windows like normal.

The manual can be found here

http://us.msi.com/support/mb/Z97-GAMING-5.html#down-manual

Also keep in mind RAID 0 has no redundancy. If one drive fails ALL FILES ARE LOST! So either 1) Don't put ANY important files on here or 2) Have backup or don't do a RAID.
