My question is I would like to use ssd as OS, so do I need to use 2 ssd as raid 1 for the OS ?
My data is on raid 5 with 3 x 1 Tb sata. I plan to use this setup for exchange server and application server.

No, just image the OS SSD nightly to your other data volume, RAID 1 is overkill I think. RAID 0 if you REALLY need performance maybe, but RAID 1 SSD boot on a home system is a waste I think if you are doing proper backups.

But if the server is configured as business use etc exchange server.
Will it be acceptible to have a single SSD as OS and only the data with raid or mirror HD ?
If the SSD failed, can the data be able to be recovered like regular SATA or SAS HD ?
Of course the server will have daily backup but how about the data lost if the SSD failed in the middle of the day ? Is SSD reliable enough not to have a chance to fail ? The Server will be UPS backup properly.
Just want to know the best way or the industry standard to configure the HD in a production exchange server or seriously use SQL application server.
