Hi, I bought a MSI H87M-G43 as well as an Inno3d GTX650. My problem is that when I try to connect my VGA(with a DVI-VGA adaptor) to the video card, my monitor displays nothing. Is there anything I have to configure on the motherboard? Please help. Thanks.

Solution
So when you plug it in to the DVI-I it works. I assumed (my bad) that you tried all the DVI connectors on your gpu. That is why I thought it was a problem with your mobo/BIOS not setting up the gpu. BTW second link is a good one.

Hi, I am not sure if I overlooked the set up for it but I have searched all possible set ups like pheriperals, graphics and so on on the BIOS. I have also a DVI slot onboard, I tried to connect my adapter to it but still my monitor does not display anything. :(

I tried using both PEG and IGD but still no display. My card is in the device manager and is up to date. BTW my card has 2 DVI slot and one mini HDMI that is why I am using an adapter. Does it has anything to do with my DVI? I already tried using different adapters. To reiterate, my onboard DVI doesn't provide monitor display either.

Everything goes well without the video card. The card says that "No additional 6-pin PCI-E power cable is required". I have and aerocool PSU with 500w. I do not see any status LEDs on the mobo or hear a beep either (tried removing memory and turning the system on). I have 2 slots for pci suited for the card but not worked neither. I tried everything I know but not worked. Installed the video card drivers lots of times, transferred it from one slot to another, checked the bios, etc. But it is detected by the device manager, that is why I can't help but to suspect the DVI "thing".

Have you installed the drivers for your video card? Normally they will work in low res vga until the drivers are installed - shot in the dark. The vga-DVI adapter should work fine. Did you find a setting in your BIOS to select the pci-e graphics. Some Bios also require you to disable onboard.

Yes, tried it already several times and a while ago (again). The reason why I suspect that it has to do with DVI is that even the onboard DVI does not provide display when I plugged my adapter there and connected the VGA.

Hi, this article just enlightened me regarding DVIs, I've been very frustrated but it seems the different types of DVIs do affect the display. Though I have not tried it yet, I'm very positive that it will solve this issue,

These links might help you too.
