[SOLVED] How to connect 2.1 with passive speakers to PC

Hi,

Just bought a Cambridge x201 sub and 2 Cambridge Minx Min 12 passive speakers.

I would like to use this system as PC speakers.

My motherboard is an MSI Z370I Gaming Pro Carbon.

Can someone please tell me what kind of device and which cables I would need to make this happen? I have basically zero knowledge of amps.

I am willing to add one device to the mix but not more. Also preferable the device should be very compact and fairly cheap (max 100 US Dollars).

Really don't want to add an AV receveiver to the set up.

Passive speakers can't be directly connected to a PC. An amplifier is required.
My recommendation is to get a good used home stereo receiver at a pawn shop.

This sub needs an avr, like kanewolf already hinted, there are no speaker terminals for traditional speaker setups. Quality sub it looks like and has terminals to chain another sub but no provisions for speakers. where does the extra 12 come from?

An avr would be good if have the room.
