I recently got a 240mm liquid cooler, and the motherboard has two cpu 4 pin connectors (cpu & cpu_opt).
In the packaging there is a fan splitter thingy, to connect 2 of those (the splitter gives one 4 pin, and the other is 4 pin without the third pin), it looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/iDdCXri.png
So I connect the 2 fans to that.
I've searched for information on how to connect the pump and the 2 fans, but all I found was connecting the pump to 12v connector (which I don't know how to do), some even said the pump should be in the cpu_opt slot, some said to have it in the cpu header slot. That it had something to do with pump not able to run at full speed if we use the 4 pin headers..?
So which is the proper way to do this? Do I connect the pump to the 4 pin cpu_opt, or the 4 pin cpu header, or find a different way to power the pump?.
