How to connect a laptop to a pc

Hello,
i have an old pc without a monitor but i have a laptop. Is there any easy way to connect the pc so i can run it on my laptop monitor?

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Unfortunately, there is no way of inputting a signal to a laptop's screen - it all works the other way around. I suppose you could theoretically take remote control over the PC from the laptop and therefore see it on the laptop screen but you'd need a monitor on eth PC at lerast for long enough to set it all up.

I have an old clunker and I'd like to check the hard drives to see if there's anything important then format it and get rid of it.

Buy a PATA or SATA as appropriate, converter to slave them to another PC via USB.

Check the cheaper ones carefully - the may not have the cable.
