How to connect acer aspire 5742 to tv via hdmi?

Hi, I've a problem connecting my acer aspire 5742 to my philips tv via hdmi.
I had it working two weeks ago but not the tv says 'Video format not Recognized',
I cannot figure out what the problem is.
Any help would be appreciated.

well, if it worked before, and suddenly it stopped working, i think ur hdmi connector is not working anymore

Hi megagabobe,
It actually says on the tv screen "Video Format Not Supported",
I said not recognized. The laptop recognizes Philips FTP. I tried with another hdmi
cable and its says the same so its not the cable.
Which hdmi connector do you think is no longer working, the tv or laptop?

i think its the connector from the laptop man, because the tv is obviously recognizing the computer, but says its not supported
