So i have a graphic card geforce gtx 960 with a dvi-i output. And i just bought a monitor BenQ xl2411p with a dvi-d.

I tried connecting them using a dvi-d (male) to vga (female) converter and it says no signal detected with a blank screen. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks

P.s. My current setup is:
GPU dvi-i port>dvi-i to vga adapter>vga cable>vga (female) converter to dvi-d>dvi-d port monitor

Solution
Umm... Well a few problems with that.

1) The 960 does not natively support analog VGA, you would need an active adapter that converts analog to digital.

2) Why are you using VGA in the first place?

3) Thats a lot of adapters.

I would get a DVI-D cable. If you cant rip out the 4 pins on the DVI-I cable which effectively makes it a DVI-D cable, but I would really recommend you just buy a proper DVI-D cable.

So a simple Dvi-d to dvi-d connector will do?
Will the graphic work just fine?
