Hi everyone, I need your help..

I was gifted a new graphics card (gtx 960) but it won't function. The reason is because it needs to be connected to the power supply. However, I'm not sure what to do now. I have the cable that connects to the graphics card but the other end of the cable doesn't seem to match to any of the remaining cables from the power supply nor is there a spot for it. So if you could tell me how to fix this or if i need to buy anything else like a new power supply please let me know.

Thank you in advance

Umm what power supply do you have? It uses PCIE connectors, like square ones with 6 or 8 pins. If it's a generic PSU, then definitely get a new one. What are your other specs? We also need that to determine a PSU. If it doesn't have one PCIE connector, you need a new one. If you need adapters for a GPU, then it's time for a new PSU.

6 or 8pin cable for the GPU should be coming straight from the PSU.

if it is a modular PSU then you will have to attach those cables to the PSU first. if your PSU doesn't have 6 or 8pin cables then you are going to need molex or SATA cable adapters.

are you even sure this PSU offers enough power to run the GPU?

The name of the power supply is Turbolink Switching Power Supply. The model # is ATX-TL500w-BK

There is no 6 or 8 pin cable coming from the PSU, the only one there is came with the graphics card. I believe this PSU won't even have enough power to run the graphics card anyway. Looks like I might as well buy a new power supply.
