Question how to connect headphone and mic to my laptop using audio splitter.

i have laptop with only one audio 3.5 mm audio jack and i want to connect headphone and mic with two different 3.5 mm jack i bout audio splitter but its not working tested all the option Line in, Mic in , Headphone , earphone ...only one works at a time please help .....laptop acer predator helio 300

You probably bought a regular audio splitter which is designed for using two pairs of earphones/headphones from a single earphone jack. It won't do what you need it for.

To use a headset with separate jackplugs on a laptop equipped with a combo-jack you need a combo mic/headphone splitter like this:
