Hi,

I have bought a Genius HS-M400A headset, it says that it has an in-line microphone, but I can't get it to work, I have tried plugging in the cable in all jacks in my computer, only audio works if I plug it in "out line" jack or one of the front jacks (Analog jacks.)

I have:
- Motherboard: ASUS 970 Pro Gaming/Aura
- Windows 8.1 Pro x64

I have tried downloading the audio driver from the motherboard's page on asus.com, I don't know whether there is some sort of configuration I have to do in order for the mic to work?

Thanks in advance!

Blue (Line-in)
Green (Line-out)
Pink (Microphone)

Headset should work fine, try a clean install on your audio drivers. Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.1.7692 (332MB).

The headset has only 1 cable 3.5m.

I looked up the headset, it should have two 3.5mm plugs, one for the mic and the other for the headset speakers.

It seems there are two versions of it, one with 2 plugs and one with 1 plug and an inline mic:
