Hi there!

Last week I bought a monitor that also functions as docking station for my work laptop. Now I am looking to build my first gaming PC and also connect it to the same monitor. The thing is that I do not yet know how to make this connection happen.

The setup is as follow:
- Acer Nitro XV272U KFbmiipruzx 27" WQHD 2560 x 1440 300Hz which can also function as a docking station via USB-C that powers my working laptop (65W).
- Working laptop HP EliteBook 840 G7 plugged into the monitor via USB-C
- Razer Deathadder mouse plugged into the monitor via USB 3.0
- Corsair K55 keyboard plugged into the monitor via USB 3.0

I am planning to build my first desktop gaming PC soon. Currently I'm looking mainly into AMD parts so that it functions nicely with my monitor which has Freesync Premium.

Question: How do I connect the desktop to the monitor while keeping the USB-C hub function (including power supply) for my working laptop, not having to change the way my keyboard and mouse are plugged in, and not lose framerates between my desktop and monitor.

My monitor came with the following cables:
- HDMI to HDMI cable
- DisplayPort to Displayport cable
- USB B to USB 3 cable.

I hope someone can help me! Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
