Hi,

Does anyone have any answer to my question. I have a external speaker currently connected to the motherboard audio jack. I wish to buy a new gaming headset but is it possible to use both my external speaker and headset in 1 audio port via splitter?.

Heres the splitter. Would it work?

That splitter would work, however you will not experience true sound quality. My suggestion would be to buy an external sound card instead and configure Windows to play through both the headset and speakers at the same time. Another option is an external mixer with multiple outputs. Connect the external mixer to your audio out on the motherboard and connect your sound devices to that instead.

thanks. any you'd recommend for the external mixer?

That all depends on the mixer you go for, something like the Behringer DDM4000 has multiple outputs and headphones too but comes at a price, around $350 USD but that would deliver true quality. In reality you can go for anything with multiple outputs so it all comes down to your budget and end result. Pretty much any mixer will give you decent sound quality but the higher quality mixer the better the sound will be. For example the DDM4000 will give you studio quality output and you can connect microphones etc to it if you are using it on TeamSpeak etc. You could even connect a console to it at the same time as well as your TV, Mobile Phone etc
