What are those RCA jacks on the stereo?
If they are inputs you could come out of the headphone jack on the TV with this...and go to those inputs (if that's what they are).

The color doesn't matter. Use them whichever way you have to.
If that's an "aux in" it should work.
Just make sure you set the input of the stereo to "aux in".
Actually, the color might matter. If the cable you have with white/yellow has 3.5mm audio at the other end, it's quite possible this cable came from a digital / video camera, and it might not be compatible. And you definitely need a cable like the one referred above.One more question, just in case. Does the color of the cables matter? I found some locally too, but instead of red and white, some of them are yellow and white, black and red, etc... But they all seem to be the same thing. Look the same and say "AUX 3.5mm to RCA".
