How to connect my home theatre system to Computer

So I wanna use my home theatre speaker via a computer so how should I possibly do it?

I read on net that I need to buy aux cable which one gonna go in the home theatre and the other one inside the computer headphones jack?

Also my computer is running in hdmi but home theatre ain't hdmi

Well you have not told us what you have so guessing here but best answer is HDMI if your system pushes audio over that next is toslink/fiber connection. Last and not a good option in my opinion is headphone to rca into sterio...
