I have a VGA to HDMI connector cable, but when I connect it to my computer, the TV displays "no signal" though the computer is acknowledging the connection to the TV. Any advice?

Solution
I've had this problem before. Those connector cables are garbage since they don't convert the analogue signal of VGA to the digital signal for HDMI. If you want to do this you need a VGA to HDMI converter. I recommend this one

All you need to use this a VGA cable, a HDMI cable and the converter. Then plug the VGA from your laptop into the VGA on the converter, and the HDMI from the Converter to the HDMI slot on your TV.

Hope this helps :)
