How to connect power to graphics cards

My graphics card came with a 4-to-6 pin adapter. Should i connect both 4 pins or just one to the PSU.

I kindly ask moderators to delete duplicate posts that have not been answered... if possible.
So, another try: what graphics card and PSU using?
If the PSU does provide the required PCIe power cables, then there's no need for an adapter.

the PSU provides enough power. However it doesn't have a 6 pin connector, it only has two 4pins. All i want to know is whether i am supposed to connect both 4pins or just one. Because the connector that came with the graphics card has two 4pins on the other end that connects to the PSU.

if your current power supply lacks the required cables


you need to buy a new psu


adapters are never recommended on sub par units

you need a new psu, using adapters on sup par psu's is asking for it to blow up/burn and take your pc parts with it



now as far as you "building" a custom psu... What are the specs?

Did you modify a unit? If so what make and model?
