how to connect printer

Hi, i would like to know which device i have to connect a printer to if i want to share it with two floors in the same building.
Eg: The printer in the first floor has to be shared with the second floor. What device do i connect it into ? Patch panel ? Switch ?. Any other ?

Assuming you have network compatible printer, once it is established on the network via Ethernet or wifi, it will be able to connect to any computer on the same network by running the printer install program on each computer.

Some more information would be helpful. What is the printer make and model? Are both floors on the same network? How do your computers connect to the network?

if it is a normal priter, install it on a system, share the printer and you can access the printer by giving the ipaddress of the system and then installing the drivers

if it is a network printer, connect it to a switch, configure the ipaddress in the printer and access through the ipaddress of the printer
