How to connect Seagate Momentus 7200.4 VERY DUMB PC PERSON

I have a seagate momentus 7200.4 320GB device that was given to me by someone. I have 2 cords that connect to the CN1 and CN2 ports on the device but I don't know how to connect it to my computer! I am very unsaavy with technology like this so the better you can break it down the better it will help. Thanks!

Thanks but that is still way over my head.....I guess its not as easy as plugging it into the USB port on my laptop? I know, I know, sorry I'm so stupid about all this.

Ok just make it simple by answering one question. Are you trying to install Seagate Momentus 7200.4 320GB HDD in a Laptop ? or in any other device such as DVD player, XBOX, etc.

Into my laptop. I have a Toshiba Satellite with Windows Vista.

As I don't know the exact model of your laptop I am linking another one, if the first one doesn't help then watch this, the basics are pretty much similar regardless of model. So watch it carefully and don't get nervous its pretty simple. You can do it. Please reply back with results. Best of luck.

Second, the video you sent me is AWESOME and I think it will really help me!

Just one more (stupid) question before I start connecting everything....the seagate momentus that I have is in a clear plastic case with the ports exposed. I need to take it out of the case (with a very, very tiny screwdriver apparently) before I can put it into my laptop, right? I just want to make sure because there is a sticker on the case that says "Warranty void if case is opened". I am going to try to include pictures to help describe what I am asking. Thanks!

UPDATE: Can't figure out how to attach a picture. Imagine that.

then you don't have to do anything, just install it.

1. Sign up for a free account

2. Take the photo of HDD. Transfer the photo into PC/Laptop. Place the photo on Desktop.

3. Go to the website and Enter your login details, and upload the photo there. Now you will get a link of the photo, copy it, and paste the link into your post.

4. That's it.
