Hey All,

I have a ROG Zenith II Extreme which requires two EATX 8 pin power connectors as well as a EATX 6 pin connector.

I have never seen such a connector and my power supply does not have one of theses and neither does any other power supplies I have looked at. How do I connect this to a power supply as I am guessing that a GPU 6 pin will not be compatible.

Solution
You'll have to use a 6+2 on the 6-pin so the tab won't be centered, which is just fine as it will still get enough to be secure. Good thing that PSU has plenty of pci-e power connectors as you'll still have plenty left for the GPU.

On a side note, good god thats alot of money.
6pin connector actually is potential hazard.
4pin EPS connector fits into it, but polarity is opposite (from diagram in manual page 1-27).
Also first 6pin from 8pin EPS connector fit into it, but again polarity is opposite.

Better to leave 6pin not connected.

Edit: Actually there's error in english version manual. For example in german and french language versions polarity is correct.
So you can use 4pin ATX +12V or
first 6pin from 8pin +12V EPS in 6pin connector (if you can fit it there).

English version manual has error.
Check french and german manual versions.

You can clearly see, that PCIE 6pin is not the same as EATX12V_3.
You sure? Guru3d used a 6-pin pci-e connection in their review, which would indicate the English version is correct.
Anandtech calls it a 6 pin 12v ATX connector in thier review which is the same thing as a 6-pin pci-e connector.

There is only ONE kind of six pin connector. There are no multiple versions. All of the supplemental auxiliary 6 pin PCI connections on motherboards are exactly the same as the six pin connections on graphics cards. There are NO special six pin auxiliary connections for motherboards, because if there were, we'd know about them. You want to tell me you know about a power supply with special PCIe six pin connections? I'll call that BS every time.

End of argument.

The six pin PCI connector does fit, but I have sata and molex to 6 pin that seems to fit as well. Is a peripheral power supply 12 V? PCI seems to fit with the connector latch being off center where as the molex and sata to 6 pin are clicking into place in the correct manner. So is a sata or molex cable 12v ?

Yes, the latch being off center is not nearly as important as the quality of the actual six pin PCIe connector being much higher than that of most adapters. I would be very skeptical of ANY adapters, regardless of the source. We see case after case after case of adapters causing fires or electrical damage here. What you do is up to you, we can only tell you what we see every day. Molex and SATA to PCI adapters are bad news. 6 pin to 8 pin PCI adapters are bad news.

OK, will not use them. I had no idea that they were trouble.
What is the make and model of the PSU? What GPU are you using?
Here is my parts picker list, but GPU's are the EVGA water cooled versions, they were not in the selection but are the FTW3 ULTRA versions.

Thanks so much for the help, so I assume I use the PCI connect at the PSU side?
Good God that's a lot of money.

There, it was said twice. Because it needed to be.

LOL, that is not the end of it, here is the water cooling parts list,

Bitspower G1/4" Hexagon Flow Indicator, Digital RGB x 2 = $110
Thermaltake Distro Pacific DP100-D5 Plus 360mm 200ml x 2 = $500
Thermaltake 16 mm Pacific C-PRO G1/4 Fitting x 30 = $300
Thermaltake Pacific DIY LCS Chrome G1/4 90 Degree x 13 = $130
Bitspower Touchaqua G1/4" Female to Female Fitting x 4 = $20
Thermaltake Pacific W5 CPU Water Block - Black x 1 = $103
Thermaltake Pacific PR22-D5 Plus Pump/Reservoir Combo x 1 = $190
Thermaltake Pacific DIY LCS R33 500ml Reservoir x 1 = $57

EK-CoolStream XE 120 (Single) Radiator x 1 = $63
EVGA HYDRO COPPER Waterblock for EVGA / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti x 2 = $280

For a grand total of $2,597 on water cooling products alone. (Did not include shipping to Japan, man that is expensive)
I will post a build thread when I am finished.
Oh, and I did put in all the extra fittings and stuff I end up buying, but safe to say my head hurts.
