Hi

Potentially a stupid question but I hope you guys can help me.

I have a Define R4 case which has it's own fan controller. The manual reccomends that I plug all fans into the fan controller (rather than the motherboard) and then plug the molex cable from the fan controller into the PSU. This is the way I would like to do it.

However, I don't have the cables that came with the PSU anymore. For the life of me I can't find a cable that will let me plug this molex connector into my PSU. Please could someone advise what cable I need??

This is the molex connector: http://imgur.com/Tyemdx0,d0liCtS,esXxw05

And this is the PSU it needs to plug into: http://imgur.com/pGHBR9y

If anyone could tell me what cable I need to connect this molex to my PSU I would be so grateful.

Thanks

Brad

Hi, thanks so much for your speedy replies guys. I've found this cable now, do you think it would work? http://www.scan.co.uk/products/corsair-type-3-flat-black-peripheral-cable-with-4-connectors-cp-8920112

Hi thanks for your reply. It's a Corsair RM850. I no longer have the cables that came with the PSU. As I mentioned to the others, I have now found this cable... do you think it will work? http://www.scan.co.uk/products/corsair-type-3-flat-black-peripheral-cable-with-4-connectors-cp-8920112

Thanks so much :) Sorry to bother you again, but can I just ask, it says on the website:

Compatibility
Compatible with TXM/HX/AXi PSU's ONLY, use with any other type of PSU will result in damage to components.

My PSU is an RM PSU, not listed in the compatibility. Is this still fine?

Yeah, don't use that cable. The review for it basically says you'll f- yourself if you do:

"Beware this product is NOT compatible with all Corsair type 3 pin out PSU's. I bought the Corsair RM Series 450W power supply and needed another type 3 modular cable with molex connectors. So I bought this one only to find out (fortunately before connecting it) that the 3 x 2 block is wired differently from the one that came with my original PSU. I have since read on FreeNAS forums that people have used these sort of cables with Icy Box type HDD enclosures only to find out that their HDD are now damaged and invisible to the FreeNAS system."

Or, you can buy all the cable set from the Corsair UK web page: http://www.corsair.com/en/professional-individually-sleeved-dc-cable-kit-type-3-generation-2-black
