How to connect to 3g on android phone

i have a virgin mobile my phone is on but i can't get on the internet and i can't connect to 3g network my phone is a android how can i fix this

Settings > Data Usage > Mobile Data, Switch to ON

If you have a different interface please tell me the model of the phone or the version of android it is using.
