That is one way.

If you have a computer with two built-in ethernet ports, you can plug the modem into one, plug the second computer into the other ethernet port, and connect to the internet through the first computer. connect any one computer to modem . create a ad- hoc wifi network and connect other computer to it.
Share the internet setting of first computer as
Network and Sharing Center > local area connection > properties > sharing > allow other computers to connect .....
Somehow my android phone cannot connect to such wifi .
