How to connect two houses with one internet connection

Good evening,
I have a question that I did not know how to look up so I have decided ask here on the forum. At my house I have an internet connection through my ISP. My dad is moving in nearby, within about 1.5-2 miles. He is most likely going to set up another account and pay for another connection through the same ISP. I was wondering, though, if there would be some way to set up a fixed wireless connection between my house and his, through a satellite or something because I am already paying for the service. Also, the internet connection that I already have is also through a satellite on my roof to a satellite on a nearby mountain so I know there is some way to do it.
Thank you,
Kaleb

What kind of budget do you have for this? To make this even half way stable at 1.5 to 2 miles you are looking at minimum of $500-700 and will require you to mount antennas on the roof and run cables from the antenna. At > 1 mile range you are looking at getting commercial grade equipment; using pringles cantennas and old linksys routers is not a real world solution.

If there is a hill or mountain between you then forget about it, its simple as that. If there is just a bunch trees then that is still doable.

To do this right you will need high power directional antennas (with built in wireless bridges) on the roof of both houses, and then run ethernet cable to router/access points inside both houses. You will likely be better off...
The use of a long range wifi antenna would probably be the best method. I have seen one on websites called a wifi cannon which hooks to the back of the router and directs the wireless signal a mile or more with clear visibility.

You will likely be better off using a 3ghz or 900mhz spectrum for the connection depending on what kind of line of site you have.

If this is something you seriously want to pursue then tell me about the geography between the houses and I can make you a parts list.

If the houses are on hills in the middle of the country with ideal line of sight conditions then sure, in a city setting however this is well beyond realistic optimism.

Although we do live in the country there is indeed a big hill between the houses. Thanks you for all of your time.
