How to connect two pc's, through router?

Hello guys,

I have a modem-router with 5 ethernet ports and one usb. But i have only one ethernet cable, and one usb cable. What to do to connect the two pc's? Because I already have set the same workgorup (bothe pc's run xp pro sp2) and nothing happens.

Spend $2 and buy another ethernet cable. It is unlikely you will be able to get it to work via USB...maybe if you have a special router but not even worth the trouble to do.

Hi,

The USB port is designed for managing the router not for network communications. You need to purchase another Ethernet cable.
