Pls. advice how to connect a Sata WESTERN DIGITAL (black) 1T HDD so that I can at least download data from it...
Mobo: Asus Prime Z590- P
Main drive: Corsair 512GB SSD with Windows 10 64-bit installed

When I connect a Sata WD HDD as a second disk, Windows 10 simply does not load. The BIOS passes normally, then just tries to boot, doesnt freeze, but nothing happens. What should I do?

Solution
Can I connect HHD to PSU but unplug Sata? Run Windows from main drive. Then hot plug SATA to HDD? Is it safe for Mother Board and PSU?
You'd have to turn on Hot plug feature for sata port (where drive is connected) for this to work.
Should be safe.
But if the drive is faulty, it can die completely.

Is this drive potentially faulty?

Buy a USB-SATA dock, and power the drive up only after the system is up and running.
Well its pretty old. Can be faulty...Probably 10 years ago when it was a main drive, it was ok...
