I recently reformatted my pc because I have a new motherboard and procie. I had on going downloads that time but it was all downloading on my secondary hdd mainly for storage. I am now trying to resume the download by adding the torrent again and saving it on the same folder but instead of detecting the downloaded files, it is starting from 0 again. i also tried forcing to recheck. How can I resume it? please help me. THanks!

Torrent client like uTorrent have an option to change the file extension of incomplete file to .ut! which may be the issue (the settings was manually turned off but reinstallation default to on or otherwise). So check the location where you saved the files downloading through torrent.

Torrent client like uTorrent have an option to change the file extension of incomplete file to .ut! which may be the issue (the settings was manually turned off but reinstallation default to on or otherwise). So check the location where you saved the files downloading through torrent.

Another potential issue is that it may try to save the torrent files in its own folder structure i.e. instead of yourfilepath>file.torrent; the client create yourfilepath>torrentname>file.torrent and therefore couldn't continue from where you left off.

Simple step-by-step solution:

1> Add back the torrent, save it to a different path.
2> Wait for it to begin downloading, then stop it.
3> Navigate to where you tried to download the files originally.
4> Overwrite the files at the <1> location with the files from <3> (rename to have matching file extension with the one at the destination)
5> Re-check / Force Re-check.
6> Continue with the download.

Don't make mistake with step 4 and rewrite the files with the downloaded packets with the essentially empty placeholder file you just created at step 1.
