[SOLVED] How to control PWM fans in Bios or Software?

Solution
I got this Thermaltake fan hub from Amazon ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G9BEC5W?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details ) and have attached 7 fans to it, 6 of them are PWM 4 pin Be Quiet! Pure Wings 2 fans. I attached the main connector from the fan hub to CHA_FAN1 on the motherboard as I had read to not plug it into CPU_Fan header. How would I control these fans in Asus Bios?
ASUS provides its AISuite software that allows you to monitor and change fan speeds. If you look through the Utilities section of the support page for your motherboard you should see it listed, something like this:

I presume that you also have plugged into one end of the Hub a SATA power output connector from your PSU for power.

You have connected a cable from it to the CHA_FAN1 header of the mobo. Go into BIOS Setup and look for the place where fans are configured. Most often there is a screen where you must choose the particular header to work with, so choose CHA_FAN1. The default settings are usually OK, but do check these items. (Since you have not told us exactly which mobo you have, I can only offer generic advice.)
  1. Ensure the MODE is set to PWM, not to Auto or DC or Voltage
  2. Set the Profile to Standard, not fixed speed or full speed (Turbo) or Quiet
  3. If you can choose a temperature sensor to use, select the one on the mobo, bot the one inside the CPU chip.

When done, back out to Main Menu, then use F10 to reach the Exit Menu. There choose to SAVE and EXIT and your system will ave these settings and reboot.

Any mobo header can deal with the speed signal sent back to it from ONE fan only. So with this set-up the CHA_FAN1 header will show you the speed of only the fan plugged into the Hub's Port #1, and ignore all the others. This has NO impact on ability to control the fans.

I don't know what the seventh case fan is. As long as it also is a 4-pin PWM type its speed will be controlled. Such a Hub can NOT control the speed of any older 3-pin fan.

dwd999 makes an excellent point. You can set up fan header configurations in BIOS Setup but you can NOT see what the system is doing during real work. The utility supplied with your mobo by its maker you can run as any other app under Windows, so you CAN see reality while actually working. Moreover, some find such tools much easier to use that BIOS Setup. And generally, such tools do give you reliable info, whereas SOME third-party tools may need calibration to give accuurate results.
